Resolving Font Auto-Activation Conflicts

    How the Conflict Resolver Works

When auto-activating fonts in your Windows apps, FontAgent® can use its Conflict Resolver to help you select among multiple fonts that match fonts used in your document.

When you open a document that has several possible matches in your font collection, FontAgent presents the Resolve Conflicts window, which displays the format of the font, the library, foundry, version and the relevance for each font that closely matches the font used in the document. With this information you can select the correct font needed to display the document correctly.

If you create a document using an application for which you have installed an auto-activation plugin, FontAgent stores information with the document so when it is opened by another FontAgent user, the correct font auto-activates.

    Setting Conflict Resolver Preferences

You can use the FontAgent Preferences panel to control how FontAgent resolves font conflicts by following these steps.

    1. Select Options from the FontAgent menu to display the FontAgent Options panel.
    2. Click the Activator tab.
    3. Use the buttons in the middle of the panel to indicate your preference.
